Efficacy and safety of oral ivermectin combined with topical permethrin in treatment of scabies.

Objective: To determine the efficacy and safety of oral ivermectin topical permethrin when given either alone or in combination patients with scabies. Study Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Setting: Department Dermatology, Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore. Period: April, 2022 to September, 2022. Material & Methods: A total 369 scabies, age 18-60 years both genders were enrolled after taking written informed consent randomly equally divided into three groups. Group received 5% permethrin, B Ivermectin C a ivermectin. Efficacy was assessed over 3 weeks. Results: The mean 4110.9. There 164 (44.4%) males 205 (55.6%) females. treatment A, efficacious 70.7%, 67.5% 84.6% respectively there significant difference between versus (p=0.009) (p=0.002). In terms side effects, 11.4% 13% 17% experienced effects. Conclusion: therapy more than however, effects compared single agent.
